Celebrating Yumna Wasif – ACE Scholarship Winner

Join us in celebrating Yumna Wasif, recipient of a $3,000 ACE Scholarship and a rising architecture student at Thomas Jefferson University. A senior at B. Reed Henderson High School, Yumna has long been inspired by the iconic buildings of Philadelphia and New York — and now she’s preparing to shape skylines of her own. With a passion for design and a creative spirit that spans from ceramics to cardboard, Yumna combines artistic flair with architectural ambition in everything she does. She shares, “ACE helped me understand the many careers involved in shaping the built environment and confirmed my decision to pursue architecture to make an impact on the world. It taught me teamwork, design, structure, and professional skills that I’ll carry with me into the future.” Outside the studio, Yumna is also a decorated public speaker and artist, having won awards at both regional and national levels. Her voice, vision, and values are building blocks for the future — and we are proud to support her every step of the way.
Celebrating Olivia Solomon – ACE Scholarship Winner

We’re proud to shine the spotlight on Olivia Solomon, recipient of a $3,000 ACE Scholarship and future changemaker in the field of Electrical and Computer Engineering. A graduate of Cumberland County Technical Education Center (CCTEC), Olivia completed four years in the school’s engineering program and is now heading to Rowan University to pursue her dream of working in national defense — with hopes to one day design cutting-edge systems for organizations like Lockheed Martin or the Department of Defense. In her own words, “ACE has given me the opportunity to connect with professionals in their respective fields and see what it is truly like to work in the architecture, engineering, and construction industries.” Olivia’s drive, curiosity, and commitment to service are matched only by her energy — she’s also a competitive runner and pole vaulter! We’re honored to support her journey as she reaches new heights — on and off the track.
Celebrating Elijah Thomas – ACE Scholarship Winner

Meet Elijah Thomas, recipient of a $3,000 ACE Scholarship, whose passion for innovation and hands-on learning is already shaping a remarkable future. A graduate of CCTEC and dual-enrollment student at Rowan College of South Jersey, Elijah is earning both his high school diploma and an associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology. With plans to continue his education in Mechanical Engineering, his goal is to become a project manager who brings smart, efficient solutions to life. Elijah credits the ACE Mentor Program for helping him understand the collaborative nature of the built environment: “ACE has helped me to see that those in architecture, engineering, and construction are all pivotal in bringing an idea into reality — and that making mistakes is among the best ways to improve the final result.” From engineering shop class to crafting his own wooden surfboard, Elijah blends creativity, curiosity, and coastal inspiration in all he does. We’re proud to support his next wave of success!
Celebrating Jordan Colon – Carpenters’ Company Scholar

We’re thrilled to recognize Jordan Colon, recipient of the $10,000 Carpenters’ Company Scholarship, as one of this year’s ACE Mentor Program of Greater Philadelphia scholarship winners. A dedicated engineering student at CCTEC and the oldest of three siblings, Jordan is paving the way not only for his future, but for those who look up to him. This fall, he’ll be continuing his journey at Kean University, majoring in Architecture with aspirations to one day earn his master’s degree and open his own firm. Jordan shared how ACE has helped sharpen his attention to detail and build skills that will carry him into his next chapter and beyond: “ACE has allowed me to look at small details with greater depth and has allowed me to improve my skills to be ready for whatever my future brings.” We’re proud to support Jordan as he lays the foundation for a bright, bold career in architecture — and we can’t wait to see how high he builds.

A Towering Success!

The ACE Mentor Program of Greater Philadelphia’s Annual Giant Jenga Tournament was back and bigger than ever! With over 400 attendees and 64 teams stacking up against the competition, the night was filled with high-energy matches, intense concentration, and some truly game-changing moments. Congratulations to Alderson Engineering, this year’s Giant Jenga Champion! They outlasted the competition, proving that a steady hand and solid strategy go a long way—just like in the A/E/C industries. Beyond the friendly rivalry, this event was about something much bigger: raising vital funds for ACE Greater Philadelphia to support scholarships and mentorship programs for high school students pursuing careers in architecture, construction, and engineering. Thanks to the unwavering support of our sponsors, board members, and the entire A/E/C community, we raised over $20,000 to help shape the future of the industry. Breanna Sheeler, Chair of the Board, shared her excitement about the event’s impact: “The Giant Jenga Tournament is always an unforgettable night, but the real victory is the opportunities we’re creating for students. Every dollar raised helps mentor and guide the next generation of architects, engineers, and construction professionals, ensuring the strength and growth of our industry for years to come.” A huge THANK YOU to all of our sponsors and participants who made this event possible.
